I was extremely excited at the prospect of getting to use Oracle. Until I realised what a pain in the ass it was!! Ok, I must admit the pain in the ass part is more me being unfamiliar with it then anything else.

So far, the impression I get of it Oracle(via TOAD) is that it's more powerful than MSSQL.
Perhaps it was because I didn't have to manipulate data the way I have to now (and also I used to have more gurus to ask for help)... but I've

4. Gotten lotsa memory leaks (Dunno why ALWAYS tio memory leak zz, maybe 'cos I abuse the compiler by forcing it to compile my 1/2 pass 6 SQL??)

Background: I was asked to move heaven and earth to fulfil a report request and I MOVED heaven and earth!!! Bwahah at least to me lah, noob ma! But must admit the top of my head now feels a bit cooler and lighter and i feel satisfied that i managed to complete my task despite wanting to throw the towel in many times during these 4 days.

This year's 1st post is in Feb and for all you know, year 2009's 1st post might actually be in 2010!

Checked out last year's resolution and realised that I didn't manage to keep much of it and this year is slacky year so no resolutions, I shall do whatever's 'right'.

Anyways today was the 1st day back at work after another long holiday (i took mon-wed off, no choice lah gotta visit my grandma) haha ;p

But obviously the heavens were telling me that I should have taken today off as well!
It was soooo not my day..
1. The overhead lights were spoilt
2. Somehow or other I must have enjoyed my holiday too much 'cos I actually forgot my password zzz and it's a damn hassle to go up and down between 35 n 44th floor !@#$%^&*()
3. AND.... I actually did OT today!! 1st time since I started work!!

Operation Lasik, the aftermath

It's an hour plus after doing lasik on my 2nd eye. Somehow the operation on my 2nd eye hurt more than the 1st eye, in fact it didn't hurt for my 1st eye at all!

Dr Ang claims it's normal, he says that peoples' eyes react differently to the operation and that for some people it's more painful for the 1st eye.

Anyway so far so good, the right eye's already at 6/6 and the doctor claims it'll get better. For now, I'm seeing the world with a bloom effect (which apparently is normal).

I guess I'm ok with seeing the world with beautiful glowy feel haha, but I do hope that it'll go off eventually, imagine watching a movie like LOTR and thinking it looks no different from everyday life!

This is a gonna be a very disjointed messy post, cos I don't know where to start and how to organise it! And there's too many things to put up and i'm lazy so this is the gist of it!

There were a few 1sts for me in this trip, 1st..

Flight on a budget airline
Flight on Tiger Air
Trip to Vietnam

Basically the itinary of the trip was SIN-HCH(1Night)-Dalat(2Nights)-HCH(2Nights)-SIN
Although it's very dusty but you can tell the people there value cleanliness cos they really bother to keep their place clean. Things there are quite cheap compared to Singapore but then again our currency is stronger so that's kinda expected.

For me, I liked the shopping there but not really the tourist spots. I think I like 'disneyfied' tourist spots more, but then i suppose if that were the case then entrance fees would be more expensive.

At the end of everything, I don't think I'd go back there to visit the tourist spots, but I'll go back to shop and eat Pho!!

Vietnam Dong and USD are accepted at most places.

Ho Chi Minh
Accomodation - Hong Hoa Hotel
Quite a low cost clean and decent place, and it's jus beside Sinh Cafe!
Cons: No hair dryer and hot water flask but u can easily get a hair wash at a salon and purchase drinking water at the grocery store!

Tour Agency - Sinh Cafe
Decent travel agency. But watch out if you change $$ with their money changer! They tried to short change my dad and almost cheated him of $60!!

Cu Chi Tunnels
Apparently the people of Cu Chi dug 3 level tunnels (!!!) for warfare purposes. They lived in there are traveled through them too.

The tunnels were hidden unless you knew signs to look for them.

They made simple but deadly weapon traps, it kinda chilled my blood!

Step into it and OUCH, 4 pins in your leg!

Looks like some insect nest but it's not! the tunnels even had hidden air ducts!

You get to shoot AK14s and some other gun too!! Ok, this is probably no big deal for the guys but... hey I've always wanted to shoot a gun ;)

Honestly the sounds were loud and scary, made me scared to try!!

And finally you get to try going into the tunnels...
Warning, you have to prepare your self physically before going for this or... you can be like me and have your thighs ache for the next 3 days!!

Actually although the next picture look bright BUT it's dark like hell!! I couldn't see nuts in there!! I had the camera in 1 hand and my nokia in the other as a torch light!

And it's quite low so most of the times i'm duck walking

There were 2 markets I visited in HCM, one was a smaller market, mainly for fresh food and the other is Ben Thanh Market where you can buy bags, lacquer-ware and tee-shirts.

I think it's better to go in the morning, somehow they are more keen to sell then and also don't forget to bargain!

Manicure & Pedicure @ Kitty Salon
It's really cheap to do mani over there, me and deb did nail art and my uncle did mani and pedi and it only costs 150000 dong (tt's like $15 sing)!!

Dalat
Nothing much interesting but if you enjoy cold weather you can consider heading there.
They are known for persimmons and jams.

Box of strawberries for $1!! Not all were pretty but it's like $1 so can't complain!

Chicken Village
Named like that cos there's a stature of a huge chicken there erected for some lady who died for love or something

The people there grow veggie and make handicraft and incense sticks for a living.

There's a cute doggy there who knows how to pray!!

XQ Hand Embroidery
To me the thing that was most out standing and disneyfied is xq hand embroidery, the embroidery there was really amazing (and pricey!!) from far it would look like a printed picture but when u get closer you'll see it's actually embroidery, the skill level is amazing! Far from what most people will ever get with cross stitch!

Was unlucky enough to have an appointment on Thursday night when there was a train fault that caused the service from Newton to Marina bay to stop for an hour.

The part that rankles me the most is the repeated playing of the voice recording saying that the train will be delayed for 10 minutes. After more than 20 minutes and i still hear the same recording. Sheesh i can think of a few good reasons why that would be the case

1. People working for SMRT don't wear watches or maybe the station don't have a clock.... or maybe someone doesn't know how to tell the time...

2. SMRT so cheapskate that they only record the "10 mins" one, they should also record 20, 30, 40,50 mah....

But honestly they have PA system so why don't they USE it!! And then finally some "SMART" soul announces that the service would be delayed for ONE HOUR after making everyone stand around like idiots for 1/2 an hr!!!

As I was leaving the station I saw people queuing for a refund and I'll be damn if I let SMRT just earn my $ like that!! So I joined the queue and only after 5-10 minutes did another "SMART" soul announce that you can get a refund over the next 3 days!!! I wonder if the person really had a brain or did they start running out of $ to refund people....

Seriously, we are supposed to be a advanced and efficient nation with "world class service" so how come the whole process so cocked up??? Why no SOP for such a situation?? And hell, every year they report a profit, can't they use more of their profit to do some maintenance.

This morning, I read that there were bus services provided from Newton to Marina Bay.... then what about Orchard, Sommerset & Douby Ghaut?? The officers in the MRT could have made an announcement about it right? But I certainly didn't hear about any such thing!

I ended up having a sardined bus ride from Lucky Plaza to get to Bugis from an unimaginably crowded bus stop. The highlight of my trip was the bus uncle calling back to base and asking if the bus in front had broken down and describing the number of people at the bus stop as 200-300 (I think it was only a 100 at most) and some lady in the bus grousing over her hp, loudly proclaiming that her chicken and meat were gonna get spoilt!

Most ironically the train I took home today went out of service at AMK, they never even gave any cause as to why it went out of service. For me, I was definately not gonna stand around for 30 mins again like some idiot, not when I can take a bus home from AMK!

Lasik Consultation

Did my consultation at SNEC today.

It took FOUR LONG freaking hours!!!! Almost died in the waiting room.

For those who are considering, basically the procedure goes like this
1. One eye test
2. Consultant briefs you on the procedure
3. More eye tests (about 3-4 more tests including dripping painful eye drops to dilate the eyes)
4. Checking & consultation with the doctor

Actually it's not the tests that take a long time, it's more of the waiting than anything else (bleh)
Whilst waiting for the doctor i started to get sian... what if... i had waited 4 hours for him to say i'm not suitable!!!! Then i think i'd really 'bang wall'!

Anyways the good news is I'm suitable yea!!!

The doctor basically showed me 4 options
a. Normal lasik
b. Ladarvision
c. Wavefront
d. Aspheric

He basically crossed out all the other options (with explanations) and told me i'm suitable for normal lasik because i've got fat corneas (and i'm happy cos i get to save money).

So now i'm just waiting for end Nov for my operation, so nervous & excited ; )

And for whoever's interested, there's 0% installment plans for quite some credit cards.

Ironically i was under the impression that my degrees were 1000 in one eye and 750 in the other but actually i'm about 800 plus in both eyes!

And some STUPID optician actually told me that i might go blind in one eye cos of my 'really bad' lazy eye! When actually the truth is my lazy eye is NOT that bad! Sheesh stupid idiot!

1) I got to meet up with my long lost secondary school frens!! yea for me ; )

Can't decide whether I want to die suddenly or not... dying suddenly means you don't suffer but you don't get to say goodbye, but hey I'm not too keen on suffering either!
I'm stuck with the morbit thought that every year(after I hit 50), I should pick out a set of clothes and shoes in case some unfortunate event happens to me. God forbid I be buried in something that doesn't match!

3) I'm planning to go to Taipei again come end Dec, will be spending my New Year overseas if nothing goes wrong *fingers crossed*

BUT, IMO the merchants can just do the opposite, offer discounts to customers who pay by cash lor...

Wow, times passes fast & before i realised it, my birthday's over and it's already the middle of the year. This year i had quite a few celebrations, lucky me huh ;)

My colls celebrated for me with muffins, jappy grilled meat, chicken pies & soya bean milk and a slice of cake jus for me! Was super stuffed!

I had dinner with Ash & Mic at Shashlik (Hey it's not my photography skills, the place is dark ok)

This wine I bought when i went to Melbourne for studies!!! Somehow ended up really light-headed... much worst than i've gotten in a super long time.

The prawn bisque was good, dad and deb tried the baked brie and that was nice too, but i was too busy enjoying my soup and forgot to get a shot of that ;p

Main dishes... duck confit... put a bit of duck together with the rosti and the mango... mmm heavenly ;o...

If you don't mind a bit of the mutton smell, the lamb shank is nice and tender

Flourless chocolate something....very very chocolately good. We were trying to guess how they made it without flour and deb suggested maybe they steamed it..

WOW another year has gone by just like that... so much has happened and yet, sad to say I don't think I've achieved much... except for logging ultra long hours on DOTA ;p

Checking back on last year's resolutions to see what I've actually managed to succeed in doing...

Hmmm less lazy... nope... eating vitamins religious... erm not really... stop splurging... well i've a budget now... and sleep earlier and wake up earlier?? well some of the times...
So that's about a success rate of... 45%?

Anyway's here's this year's resolutions

1) STOP HUNCHing!!
Becoming a real terrible slouch! And I dont wanna be a hunched over little old lady so this has gotta STOP!

2) Stick within my spending budget
Don't know how long this will last though lol, can already feel people rolling their eyes liao ahaha

3) Be more hardworking
Been quite slack last year, this year must GAMBATTE!!!

Wasn't gonna say anything much in this post but i couldn't resist. Went to this place for dinner cos Uncle Victor came to town.

Dad says that apparently the owner has some connections with Crystal Jade! And be broke away to start his own restuarant or something.

Anyways the interesting thing is that they sort the menu by what goes with white wine, red wine and champagne.

We had roast pork, stuffed tofu, wasabi prawns, baked crab rice and dessert. IMO, every dish was simple and delicious, although rus and deb preferred peach garden...

But overall, decent food and decent service, so thumbs up!

And i can't resist taking a dig at the menu where people serve mud carp fish, they serve mud crap fish o.o"

Salt's not stressed

Brought Salt to the Vet at Namly Clinic today and Pepper got to tag along.

As you know, I brought Salt to the Vet at Jalan Kayu previously cos she seemed to be losing fur and I was told that she bites her fur due to stress.

Anyway this time around, her feet have swelled up, so i decided to bring her to a new vet so i could get a 2nd opinion on her fur problems at the same time. Turns out that all along, she has fur mites!! And was chewing her fur cos it was itchy and that it probably caused her feet to swell due to irritation.

Just as well that I brought Pepper along, so the vet could treat both of them together, cos although Pepper's fur is too dark for the vet to tell if she had fur mites too, but if one has it, it's likely that the other does too.

Well at least now i know that Salt's not stressed o.o"

Who knew that potatoes come in blue as well?? Apparently they do and they're come from the Chilean potato-tree.

Anyways the family had dinner at Blue Potato Restaurant @ Swissôtel Merchant Court, all their main dishes are cooked using blue potatoes as an ingrediant. Overall the food was good and my dad picked the best dish; a seafood pasta.

Turn offs, it's outdoors and they don't serve ice water.

"$$ saving" things I've learnt today.

1) Buying from Cold Storage @ Taka is cheaper than buying from Isetan Supermarket, of course it still cant beat NTUC but there's no NTUC in orchard ;p

2) Buying brownies from the ______ Leafs Bakery @ Taka Basement instead of buying brownies from the brownie shop next to it. Yes, the brownie shop's brownies taste much richer, but i can never finish 1 piece by myself and where else can u get 3 brownies for $1.50 or 5 for $2.50??

Bread and Butter Pudding Recipe

Moi loves bread and butter pudding so decided to be lazy and blog down this recipe (that sounds easy) so that i'd never have problems finding it.

Taken from the TODAY Paper 24 Aug 2006

Serves 4 to 6

Ingredients
1/2 cup golden raisins
1/4 cup dried cranberries
5 tbsp butter, room temperature
20 slices FairPrice Enriched White Bread, crust
removed
5 Pasar eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups FairPrice hi-cal milk
1 tsp ground cinnamon sugar

Method
1. Soak raisins and cranberries in hot water until fluffy. Set aside.

2. Spread butter over the slices of bread and slice diagonally in half.

3. To prepare the custard, beat eggs, sugar and vanilla until pale yellow then slowly add milk and whisk until well combined.

4. Layer slices of bread (butter side up) in a baking pan or oven-proof dish, slightly overlapping the slices. Scatter raisins and cranberries in between. Pour half of the custard over.
Continue placing another layer of bread and pour remaining custard on top, followed by the dried frui ts. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over. Let the dish stand for 30 minutes so that the bread is soaked with the custard mixture.

5. Bake pudding in a pre-heated oven at 180 deg C for 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

CC's UK Trip

Anyway to prepare for his trip we made one to ChompChomp where we proceeded to polish off

1 goreng pisang (or pisang goreng or whatever!)

1 chickenwing each

All washed down by sugar cane juice and starfruit juice ; ) SLURP!!

After he gets back we'll make another trip down to try out the pizza and wanton mee.

Went to the doctor sometime back due to a bad case of flu. Oddly, at the registration counter i was asked which company i worked for.

To me it's like... "huh? what does where i work at have anything to do with seeing a doctor?" Needless to say i refused to tell them because they couldn't give me a good enough reason (Nope keeping record is NOT a good reason!).

Got a bit cheesed off when the doctor asked me again during examination. When i asked him why he told me it's interesting to keep records 0.0"

Maybe i've been surfing too much US based forum but isn't this like a privacy issue? So what is it? If i work in certain sectors i treated better? It's just NUTS!

ARGH!!! I feel SOOOO CHEATED!!!

Was gonna buy BK for breakfast and bank in my cheque but figured I'd be late if I did that, so i decided to settle for crystal jade express's century egg porridge.

It's not the first time I've eaten it and usually it's quite good. But today's porridge was the WORST WORST WORST WORST WORSTIEST (yes i know there's no such thing as worstiest but i'm ranting so ;p) porridge i've ever eaten in my WHOLE entire life!!!!!

The ratio of porridge to starch was like 1:3 and it was tasteless!!!! It was as if no salt had been added and I was eating tasteless tao suan!! The worst part was the starch was not mixed properly and there were clear lumpy bit something like what u get when u eat 1/2 boiled egg.

It was such a gross combination I gave up after 4 mouthfuls! Such a a waste to throw food away and also a waste of my $2.50!!! Grrr!!!

I've always felt that my sense of direction has gotten better as i've gotten older... but it's not always the case... Poor CC, in his long pants and collared polo shirt (cos it was after his presentation) got dragged all over Chinatown as I searched for People's Park...

Anyway lucky for me I managed to find it!! So here are my good bargain buys...

A pair of 3 quarters for $25!! (Muahaha!!! Cheap and good!!)
A belt for $5.50 (You can choose the belt buckle and strap you like, and if you're like me (a frugal person), you can buy a few more straps and inter-change the buckles and straps as you like!)
And a hair clip for $3.90 (I think someone else has this clip... but I can't remember who...)

Anyway my conclusion about People's Park is that not all prices are that great but you can try bargaining with shopkeepers, and most of the fashion is quite TW/HK.

Recently I've had friends who are getting married, friends who just got married, friends planning to get married....

Walked pass my parents wedding photo and I was like hmmm... I'll shared it with you guys...

I whined to my family about the irritating lady and Dad said you better becareful, you never know if someone is using a hp to record down the scene and you could become as 'famous' as the HK Bus Uncle!

Yikes!! wouldnt want that to happen!! Anyway I DIDN'T insult the lady's mom or anything so i should be quite safe.

Actually after my dad brought this up (not that I'm saying it's right to scold people's parents but) I kinda understand why the bus uncle blew up... I mean if you're in a bad mood and someone irritates you further it's really possible that you'll blow up.

I've always wanted a Tivo, imagine if you could record all the episodes of Desperate Housewifes or which ever Chinese drama you're currently hooked on and then watch them all at ONE shot!! No more missing episodes if you're going out or have to work OT! Isn't that just the most wonderful thought ever?? No more wondering what's gonna happen and being left hanging at the edge of your seat!

Unfortunately, it's a bomb at $460 and that's not including the usual subscription fees! I think that I'll just stick to online spoilers for now ; (

I'm super duper pissed off!!!! #$%^&*() + some hokkien curse words!!!!

This morning i had to miss 2 buses becos I couldnt get on! If it was because the buses were fully packed I can understand, but it was quite empty behind and the idiotic people in the back and middle jus wouldn't move in!

One day someone will get soooo mad and start something similiar to the 'parkingidiots' blog but in this case it'll be called 'idiotic bus passengers'!!

Anyway it wasn't this that really ticked me off....

When I finally got onto the 3rd bus that came along, it was so crowded infront as well that I was stuck at the stairs. When the bus stopped at the next stop and the door open the new load of passengers had problems boarding as well. And this IMBECILE(!!!!!) , right behind me, said "Can you just move in?"

TMD!!! THAT, broke the straw on my back!

I turned around glared at her and said "Why dont you tell that to the people behind??" and then turned back and ignored her.

Seriously!!! It probably never OCCURED to that TINY AMOEBA BRAIN of hers that it's so crowded infront already and if we could move in, WE WOULD!!

Sheesh!! If she thinks that she's great why stand behind me and mumble! Why doesn't she go to the back of the bus and tell those people off! Or step into the front of the bus and yell to the people behind! OR, she could choose to wake up earlier and catch an earlier bus or take a taxi!!

Didnt really bother to queue for any of the special items becos it was mainly desserts.

Realise that you can't eat much of the fried food without feeling full quite fast, so i didn't take much fried stuffs. The sashimi was really fresh and the crabs were very nice, i had 7 half crabs!!

I was in 2 minds on whether to go the sale but my bargain hunting instincts won in the end.

Bought a nice vintage style dress for $67 (UP $125), almost half price!! I also got 2 basic tops 1 for $13 and 1 for $15.

Left Mango feeling that I was the best bargain hunter ever! Cos not only did I get some good deals, ALL the items size was XS!! Yeah can you imagine that? I actually found nice XS items on the 2nd day of the public sale! Darn I'm good ; )

For the last few weeks I've been walking pass this movie poster of The King and The Clown. Thinking that it was a poster showing 2 guys and a girl.

And then yesterday I discovered the "girl" is actually a guy!! Sheesh!! What is the world coming to when guys (gays not included) actually look better than girls!! Made one of my usual annual trips down to KT to visit grandma.

CC was nice enough to babysit my piggies as usual. He claimed that Lucky (his dog) went sniff at the piggies and silly Salt not know what Lucky was went to sniff back at Lucky. Lol that must have been a real cute sight too bad I'll never have the chance to see it!

Speaking of crabs, my Dad went jogging at the beach one morning and picked up some shells for Deborah. Thinking they were empty, he gave them to Deborah, who soaked them in water and out popped 5 hermit crabs!

Sad to say, they died... (cos they're salt water creatures after all)

On my last day there, I did a little shopping with Deb and Russ. I think people around my age should remember the chickadees snack that came with a little toy. Well guess what! Chickadees has been revamped! Even the chicken looks cooler and his name is Charlie Chickadee.

Haven't tried it yet... it should probably taste the same though... and I wonder whether there's a toy inside...

Anyways CJ and Paulyn's ROM was held at Burkill Hall at Botanical Gardens. A really lovely place but #$%^&*() hard to find!!!

The food was really nice, thought the caterer did a great job, not the typical catered food that you get. It was more definately more creative.

I was in charge of wrapping the Ang Bao Box, done with cloth instead of the usual paper. Haven't done much crafting recently so quite proud of it and happy with how it turned out ; )

- Had a nice Swensens dinner (partially sponsored by M1, CC got a voucher), I had a crayfish pasta (the helping was huge) and chocolate malt ice-cream slurpz

- Had some great DotA games... ownage!!

- Watched the last episode of tt show... u know tt channel u show... haha don't know what's the name of that show.

- Had yummy egg and tuna sandwiches made by CC's mom

I'm VERY sorry that I was insensitive towards your feelings.

I guess looking at you guys reminds me so much of CC and me back then when we argued over small and silly things. And looking back at the situation, I feel that I’m so silly back then and that’s why I said you guys were silly.

Maybe it’s one of those pang kuan zhe qing moment whereby I can see that if you guys can come to an agreement on those matters then there would be no more arguments on those things, and your relationship would definitely flow more smoothly. But then again I am pang kuan zhe here so it will definitely be easier for me to say than for compromising to happen.

If you yourself can joke about the wall, definitely there will be people who think the same way as you! And of course CC not as big sized as Max confirm wall will not be damage LOL ; )

Perhaps it’s me but definitely people should know that if they whack the wall, they’ll surely hurt their hands. And I feel angry that they go and hurt themselves, my reactions will be the urge to scold them loh! To me, if you want to go hurt yourself, then you can go take care of your own injuries. Maybe because I simply cannot understand why they would do such a thing therefore I find it hard to be sympathatic. (Although you do make me feel guilty for not being more understanding...)

I was actually VV worried and shocked when I heard that Max had broken knuckles, I honestly thought that he had gotten into some really serious accident. So I felt kinda "cheated" when I found out it was self-inflicted cos you guys had an argument.

But anyways what is said cannot be unsaid and therefore I apologise and hope that in future you guys will not argue until like that again and I will think definately think twice and consider what I say before I open my mouth.

p.s. If next time the wall collapse on me I know who to blame liao! ;p

Had the opportunity to watch West Side Story with my family. At the start I was a bit sian and i thought shit! made the wrong decision to watch the musical. But after the part where Tony and Maria met I began to enjoy the show.

Although I already knew that the end of the show was gonna be sad, but i was still quite affected by it.... SOOO SAD!!!

I really liked these songs, Maria, America, Tonight, I feel so Pretty! I felt the male and female lead had really good voices but when the female lead sung high notes, sometimes i really couldnt tell what she was singing.

Next time teach your kids to NEVER stand at the exit of the bus and then stick their heads around the pole (where the ez-link tap machine is) and look front.

This morning I saw some kid who did that. And his head kena kiap when the bus driver opened the back door! Wow mass panic, with someone trying to release the kid and others yelling for the bus driver to close the door.

In the end the kid was freed, dunno if he was okie as I was all the way infront.

CC's sister celebrated her 21st birthday by booking a chalet at Downtown East and MOI was invited ; )

I stayed over with CC, his sis and her bf on friday night. We watched TV with his parents then went to Mac's for supper ; )

Woke up around 9am and watched some TV with his sis while the 2 pigs slept til 10:30! Then we headed out for breakfast. At first I wanted to have Mac's breakfast but unfortunately there were no seats inside (we like aircon!), so we had to go to BK's, but it doesn't matter cos BK's breakfast is nice too! ; )

Kinda odd that Mac's area is almost like half that of BK...

Then I play a little bit of mahjong with CC's sis and her bf. After that CC & I went for a foot massage at this place called My Foot Reflexology (first time we go for foot massage together). What can i say.... it's so !@#$%^&*() GOOD and SHIOK loh! So shiok that i op-ed to do a upper body massage after that... and that was REALLY GOOD too!

Then we went back slacked around awhile more before preparing for the BBQ. CC's mom prepared a TON of food (all home-made too!!). There was chicken wings, otak, ba kua, sting ray, mee fen, satay, fruits, tau kua, sweet potato, coldslaw, ice jelly and mango pudding!! I ate so much until I also burst! Think I must have put on at least 1 kg.

Heng I had brunch and not lunch if not I think I wont be able to eat much. Lotsa of leftover food, so I ta bao some home ; )

Sunday was a lot more slack, made lunch for my family, watched loads of TV, took a nap and played 1 DotA game, which my team won! yaaaah! No way I could have lost that game with my 2 advisors (CC & my bro) sitting behind me ; )

BUT, i a spotted a polka dotted dress in the shop recently.. and it's been ding donging in my mind whether i should buy it or not...

I think I'm headed for some downtime...

Recently I've been plagued by diarrhoea, headaches and currently a pain in my 4th left finger. I'm only 25 and my body seems to be failing and i still need for quite some years to come ;(

Then I've made some silly boo boos in work life, don't feel very efficient or productive basically i don't think i'm doing very well at all...

Today I'm viewing things from a negative view... so I'm feeling that life sucks!! It's down time period i guess...

This is me wallowing in self pity and negativity just for today (i hope!) so no comments for this post.

Here's a new tactic I saw being put into action today

Someone stands up from their seat and exits... what do you do? Just ASK for the seat.
"Can I have the seat please"

People in the carriage would be either
1. Too kapo looking around to see who it is
2. Too stunned that someone actually opened their mouth to ask for a seat
3. Too sleepy to react

and all will stay rooted on the spot thus enabling you to achieve your goal of getting a seat on the MRT!!

Don't forget to be courteous and say "Thank You" to the nice people after you get the seat!

It's so hard to believe, but me and CC have actually been together for 6 years!

We made plans to go out and celebrate, this is the 1st time in 6 years we've actually celebrated our anniversary. Usually it's more of a 'Happy Anniversary' Greeting because the date is so near to Valentine's Day.

We went to Nirai Kanai at Tanglin Shopping Centre for Dinner.

I'd post more photos of what we had for dinner but we're were quite hungry and I was too busy eating and forgot to take photos ;p So the only one I have is the picture of our dessert, sweet potato ice-cream in crepes.

I'll share with you a part of my card, it's got 6 hearts (not counting the eyes) representing our 6 years.

The thing about CC that amazes me is that I've never ever met someone that thinks like him. He bought the card cos he really really liked the cover, but it was a birthday card. So he commented out the birthday greeting card of it (coding style)!!!

The perils of waking up at 7:15

When u're supposed to wake up by 7, never NEVER wake up at 7:15

Even if you can get to the office on time, it will result in you

- getting no breakfast (~$$~)
- trying to squeeze onto the bus
- stepping onto someone's shoe and grabbing a stranger's arm when the front door re-opens at the next stop

Altogether spending $$ that need not have been spent and humilating yourself needlessly....

Brit Style Shoes

Since I was showing off my new shoes in my last post, I decided to put up a picture of another pair of my shoes that I love.

This pair I bought quite some time back because I love this way it looks. With the tweed and everything it looks oh so brit and classy! I've only worn it once and it bites like !@#$%^&*()

But no worries! I've decided to give both shoes spa treatments (lotsa of moisturer on the inside) so when i wear them they will not bite me!

AND I've also prepared this!! So darn it I will definately be wearing my shoes!!

Erm as long as it's not raining.... ; )
